BUCKHANNON, West Virginia – West Virginia Wesleyan College will celebrate Spring Weekend April 19-21 with a variety of athletic contests, Greek Life events, the annual Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony and a Wesleyan tradition, Spring Sing.
The WVWC Track Teams will host the Jasmine Claggett Invitational Track and Field meet Friday at Cebe Ross Field. Wesleyan’s football team will host its Spring Game at 6 p.m. at Cebe Ross Field following the track meet. The baseball team will face University of Charleston at home at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Bobcat Alumni Volleyball Players are invited to get back on the court for a fundraiser for the Bobcat Volleyball Team. Check-in at 9:30 a.m. in Rockefeller Center for the game beginning at 10 a.m. Entry fee is $5 cash per player.
Young alumni (Classes of 2013-2023) are invited to join Dean of Students Alisa Lively for a Young Alumni Reunion at Jimbo’s Place,6 N. Kanawha St. in Buckhannon. from 2-3:30 p.m. There will be appetizers provided.
The 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame will induct football players Michael Baird ’92, Duriel Cobb ’03 and Adam Neugebauer ’12; Sarah Van Horn Bridenbaugh ’09, women’s basketball and women’s track and field; Jesse Skiles, coach for men’s and women’s cross country and track and field and the 1983-1984 men’s basketball team. Ticket sales are closed for this event.
Finally, join Bobcat Entertainment for Spring Sing as campus organizations perform 2010s songs. The fun and musical entertainment begins at 7 p.m. Spring Weekend Royalty will also be crowned before the performances.
On Sunday, Women’s Lacrosse will face Davis & Elkins College at 1 p.m. for a home game, men’s and women’s tennis will host Bluefield State University beginning at 3 p.m. and the Baseball Bobcats will return at home against University of Charleston for games at 1 and 3:30 p.m.
