BUCKHANNON, West Virginia – Officials at West Virginia Wesleyan College have announced a multi-year, multi-million-dollar investment into the residential College’s campus facilities.  

At the recent Board of Trustees Meeting, Board Members and Administrators of the College agreed on the investment, which will be part of a multi-year plan to enhance student experiences.   Prioritized projects, selected carefully from student input, include upgrades to residence halls, campus center spaces, athletic facilities, and infrastructure, such as electrical improvements, networking, roofing, and heating and cooling systems.

These projects join a full renovation to the McCuskey Residence Hall in 2022-2023, funded through the generosity of The Reeves Foundation, The Honorable John F. McCuskey ’69, and friends and alumni of the College.  

Interim President of the College Dr. James Moore shared his enthusiasm for the projects.  “We are very excited that we have met the McCuskey Challenge and will be able to fully renovate McCuskey Hall. We’re also thrilled that the Board of Trustees has authorized us to begin aggressively pursuing our plan to upgrade facilities on campus. We all know that Wesleyan is a beautiful place, but keeping it that way takes hard work and financial resources. We are committed to ensuring that our students enjoy their spaces here and that our facilities match the world-class education they receive at WVWC.”

The comprehensive renovations are part of the College’s forward-looking strategic plan, focused on preparing graduates for a rapidly-changing world.   A completely revised core curriculum, partnership programs, new majors and co-curricular offerings, and improvements to student services are just parts of the transformational plan that is guiding the positive trajectory of the institution.  Current students were made aware of the investment and campus improvements last week.
