West Virginia Wesleyan College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of British and World Literature beginning Fall 2025. Appointment to tenure track is possible if the qualifications of the successful applicant and the needs of the institution align. The English Department seeks candidates with a specialization in British literature of any period, as well as a secondary focus in world literature. In addition to British survey courses, teaching responsibilities will include introductory courses in the discipline for English majors and non-majors, critical theory classes, upper division courses in successful candidate’s area of interest, as well as composition courses. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. by August 2025. The ideal candidate will possess broad training, versatility, a commitment to high-quality teaching and advising, as well as a record of publication in the field of literary studies.
