West Virginia Wesleyan College is seeking interested and qualified candidates to apply for a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor for the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. The hybrid program consists of online courses with one residency in Buckhannon, WV per year, and one virtual residency. Candidates should have an earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
Experience with the CACREP accreditation process and/or mid-cycle review is preferred. Appointment to tenure track will be considered if the qualifications of the successful applicant and the needs of the institution align. The salary for this 12-month position is commensurate with professional and academic experience. Professional development funds will also be provided. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching 9-10 courses a year in Fall, Spring and Summer terms
- Advising and mentoring of Masters Counseling students (may include reduction in teaching load)
- Participating in professional development activities including scholarship, research, and community service
- Assisting with the admissions process in interviewing, evaluating, and selecting qualified applicants
- Participating in ongoing assessment of the curriculum and student learning
