Teaching and Learning with Technology - Wesleyan's teaching and learning environment is both strong in the liberal arts and progressive with the use of appropriate technology. Students attending Weselyan are required to have a laptop computer for their use. In addition, many courses require the ability to install Microsoft Windows based applications. Connectivity - libraries, students, faculty, global communities - Students at Wesleyan are connected to class discussion groups, online course resources, and electronic research materials; they are connected to each other, to their faculty, and to the world.
Anytime, anywhere computing has become a lifestyle among today's nomadic college students, as well as college faculty, business workers, and everyone with a “connected” lifestyle. Students will use their own computer to complete research in the classroom, in their dorm room, in our wireless enabled public areas, and wherever they are during college breaks – anytime, anywhere.
West Virginia Wesleyan College currently has two vendor partnerships for laptop purchases for the college community. In addition to providing reduced pricing and recommended configurations, our Helpdesk is authorized to perform warranty service on site for Dell and ASUS laptops. (Some restrictions may apply for units from BestBuy.) Dell Partnership. The College participates in a Dell partnership program that allows students to purchase a laptop including extended warranty and accidental damage coverage at reduced pricing. We have been partnered with Dell since 2004, and continue to work with them to provide access to quality products and service.
