The Campus Life Office at West Virginia Wesleyan College is accepting applications for an Outdoor Recreation/Sustainability Graduate Assistantship. Responsibilities include planning and developing a yearly outdoor rec schedule, supervising and leading trips, supervising student assistants, general office duties, serving as the Residence Life liaison for sustainability and other projects as needed in the Campus Life Office.
A bachelor’s degree and a strong interest in the outdoors are required. Outdoor experience is helpful but not necessary. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills and enjoy interacting with students. Wilderness medical training is a plus. The position requires frequent travel on weekends for planned activities.
Compensation will include room and board as well as a stipend. The selected applicant will also receive a tuition waiver for the MBA, MS.N., M.Ed. program contingent on acceptance into the program. A two year commitment is expected. The position begins August 1, 2013.
