Wesleyan Receives Unclaimed Property from WV State Treasury
State Treasurer John Perdue presented West Virginia Wesleyan College interim President Boyd Creasman a $112,315 unclaimed property check Wednesday, during a ceremony at the College.
“I am always thrilled to reunite a valuable education entity such as West Virginia Wesleyan College with lost funds,” said Treasurer Perdue. “Wesleyan is, without a doubt, a crown jewel in this state’s higher education landscape. I’m sure President Creasman and his staff will find a use for these funds.”
Virtually all of the money is listed in records as assets surrendered to state Unclaimed Property from Vanguard Wellington, an investment firm. It is unclear from where the money originated.
