Sleeth Gallery Presents a One-Night-only Performance Event
The Sleeth Gallery, a contemporary gallery space on the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College, is announcing an upcoming, one-night performance event by New York artist, Ryann Slauson. The event will take place on March 19, from 4:30pm–6:00 pm in the Sleeth Gallery on the first floor of McCuskey Hall at the intersection of East Main St and College Ave in Buckhannon, WV. The event is open to the public and admission is free. An artist talk will take place immediately following the event at 6:00pm.
Slauson’s work is a combination of pop culture, nostalgia and humor. This one-night event will combine performance, video and music in an interactive, participatory experience that will invite the audience to not only view but also become part of the experience. The event will be recorded and given away to participants involved in its creation.
Ryann Slauson received her BFA in Sculpture and Extended Media from the University of South Florida in 2010, and is currently completing her MFA in Studio Art and MA in Modern and Contemporary Art, Theory, and Criticism at Purchase College. She received the PUNCH Choice Award at the “2014 International Juried Exhibition” at PUNCH Gallery, Seattle, WA; and was included in ”Marking Time” at Adam Baumgold Gallery, NYC; “Seeing the Sky,” the 2014 Wassaic Summer Exhibition, Wassaic, NY; and “The Wanderers” at Trestle Projects, Brooklyn, NY.
