Graduating Seniors Recognized by Multicultural Programs and Services
The Office of Multicultural Programs and Services at West Virginia Wesleyan College celebrated its inaugural Multicultural Senior Recognition Ceremony on Friday, May 6th.
The program celebrated the achievements of those students involved with Prism (queer/straight alliance), International Student Organization, and Black Student Union. Each student was given a certificate of appreciation for their important contributions to Wesleyan’s community, which included the opportunity to lift up different cultures. In addition to receiving a certificate, students were presented with a stole representing their country and heritage.
Graduating seniors Morgan Carter of Fredericksburg, V; Jeremy Lambson of Salt Lake City, UT; Michael Savage of Baltimore, MD; and Deantre Watkins of Washington, D.C. received special honors for their leadership to these organizations. Also recognized were staff and faculty members Barbara Morrissette, director of career services, and Tamara Bailey, assistant professor of history, for their contributions to the students’ experience at Wesleyan.
