Deadline Approaches for Scholarship Consideration at Wesleyan
Deadlines are closing for consideration for government and institutional scholarship money at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Millions of students each year file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov. All students who are interested in attending West Virginia Wesleyan College are strongly encouraged to file the FAFSA no later than March 1 using the College’s school code of 003830.
“Filing the FAFSA is the critical first step in qualifying for and receiving a financial aid package from colleges,” commented Bernie Valento, vice president for enrollment management. “We will begin to build a financial aid package designed to make attending Wesleyan possible as soon as a student’s FAFSA data reaches us. In many cases, our financial aid packages are as generous as any institutions in the state and region.”
In addition to helping make college affordable, filing the FAFSA makes you eligible for consideration for all scholarships and grants awarded by the College. A complete list of scholarships, as well as applications, can be found athttp://www.wvwc.edu/admission/financial_aid/scholarships.php.
Please be sure to return the application, along with the required materials, to the Office of Admissions by March 1 to be considered.
Scholarships made by the Department of Music and Department of Theatre & Dance require an audition. Auditions dates are February 21 and March 21 on Wesleyan’s campus. Please contact Amanda Holbert in the Office of Admissions to set up an audition time. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or (304) 473-8525.
This past fall, West Virginia Wesleyan College enrolled its second largest incoming class in more than ten years, and the College continues to be recognized for its quality, value, and affordability in higher education. More than 95% of the incoming students received some form of financial aid and made West Virginia Wesleyan College their college of choice. The College offers some of the region’s most generous scholarship offerings with academic awards ranging from $11,500-16,000 yearly along with talent-based awards for athletics, performing and visual arts, and community service.
For help in completing your FAFSA, please contact the Office of Admissions at (304) 473-8510 or the Financial Aid Office at (304) 473-8080.
