Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Research Conference Will be Held on March 27
Students are invited to participate in the 12th Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Research Conference (MAURC) at West Virginia Wesleyan College, which will be held on Friday, March 27, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Prize money of $1,000 will be shared by conferees responsible for the finest submissions.
The deadline to apply for participation in Wesleyan's undergraduate research conference (known as MAURC) has been extended until Monday, March 16, at 11:59 p.m. Students should email an abstract describing their paper or presentation to Dr. Vicki Phillips (firstname.lastname@example.org). If pertinent, IRRB forms must also be submitted. Students must also ask a professor familiar with their work to send an email in support of their application.
The product of all academic disciplines is welcome, and submissions need not be traditional research papers. Submissions for presentation at the conference should reflect the level of excellence typical of upper level seminar classes and should not exceed 15-minute presentation times.
Dr. Robert Hull, professor of philosophy at Wesleyan, will give the key-note speech at the conference. His speech is titled “Creative Play: Dorothy, The Scarecrow, and Consciousness.” Dr. Hull initiated the Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Research Conference in 2003.
