Job Fair to be Held April 4
In conjunction with the Upshur County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), West Virginia Wesleyan College will host a Job Fair on Tuesday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Event Center on Brushy Fork. The fair will feature more than twenty local and statewide businesses, as well as special sessions throughout the day.
John Waltz, vice president for enrollment management and interim vice president for student development, is excited about the partnership with the CVB for this event.
“The Job Fair at the Event Center at Brushy Fork will provide Wesleyan students the opportunity for unique interactions with local business leaders and will connect them to career opportunities in the immediate area that they might have not known about otherwise,” stated Waltz. “Career planning sessions will help prepare students to enter the job search, and local community members will also be able to learn more about Wesleyan’s undergraduate and graduate programs to better prepare them for an ever-changing world.”
Barbara Morrissette, director of career services at Wesleyan, will be presenting two special sessions on résumé building and interview skills at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. respectively.
Businesses featured will be Fred Eberle Technical Center, Huttonsville Prison, Lowes, Shentel, Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Stonewall Resort, Wendlings, West Virginia Army National Guard, West Virginia University Medicine Recruitment & Retention, West Virginia Wesleyan College, Weyerhauser, and more.
