Finalists have been announced for the annual MVB Bank West Virginia Scholar Program. The winner will receive a full, four-year scholarship to West Virginia Wesleyan College to include tuition and fees, along with room and board, starting fall 2015. Second prize is a four-year $5,000 scholarship and the third prize is a four-year $2,500 scholarship to the College. The winner must enroll at West Virginia Wesleyan College in fall 2015.
The ten finalists are Cassidy Duffy of South Charleston, Cross Lanes Christian School; John Goellner of Morgantown, Trinity Christian School; Brooke Hinzman of Elkins, Elkins High School; Daniel McNeil of Morgantown, University High School; Devan Perdue of Morgantown, Morgantown High School; Rebekah Perry of Huntington, Spring Valley High School; Kathryn Quillen of Vienna, Parkersburg High School; Erick Trent of Point Pleasant, Wahama High School; Ashley Walker of Clarksburg, Liberty High School; and Mitchell Winkie of Bridgeport, Bridgeport High School.
Online voting has begun and can be accessed at www.wvmetronews.com. The voting will run through June 13. The 2014 West Virginia Scholar will be introduced at an awards luncheon at West Virginia Wesleyan College on June 18.
