DanceWorks to Present Performance April 24 & 25
West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Department of Theatre & Dance will present DanceWorks on April 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. in the Culpepper Auditorium of the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts. This yearly performance provides a showcase for Wesleyan students to perform their own choreography and class work from the semester, along with guest artists. This year’s concert will also entail the resurrection debut of the Wesleyan Dance Company, a student company that existed for numerous years on campus.
DanceWorks will be host to a number of special guests. The Friday performance will feature a Mime Class under the guidance of Assistant Professor of Theatre Greg Mach. On Saturday, the Morgantown Ballet Company and Augusta Youth Ballet will also perform.
“This past year, so many students showed interest [in the Wesleyan Dance Company], I felt it was the perfect time to bring it back,” commented Gretchen Moore, adjunct dance instructor.
The Wesleyan Dance Company houses three different groups, all of which has its own genre. The groups include Modern, Jazz and Hip Hop.
