Alumni/Student Speed-Networking a Success
The Student Success Center at West Virginia Wesleyan College hosted the second annual Alumni/Student Speed Networking event on Thursday, October 6 in the Annie Merner Pfeiffer Library. Fourteen students met with 24 alumni contacts, including six Board of Trustees members, to talk about career opportunities and gain experience in a one-on-one setting. Students were given a worksheet on how to write and deliver a 1-2 minute introductory presentation about themselves, or an elevator speech. Alumni helped students tailor their speeches, as well as become more comfortable with making connections in a formal setting.
