West Virginia Wesleyan College seeks applicants for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor, position for our new program in Petroleum and Natural Gas Geophysics beginning fall 2015. We prefer a Ph.D. in geophysics to complement existing faculty with expertise in optics/nuclear physics, astrophysics, and condensed matter physics.
We offer majors in Applied Physics, Petroleum and Natural Gas Geophysics, and a pre-engineering transfer program—see http://www.wvwc.edu/academics/dept/Physics. Responsibilities include teaching lectures and developing labs at all levels of the new curriculum. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and involving students in research. Research funding is available.
