Our studios include painting, drawing, dark room photography, a mac lab, a lighting lab, and senior student studio space. We have a variety of equipment including DSLR cameras for check-out, large format color printers, a variety of analog photography cameras, lighting kits, and scanners. Our small class sizes guarantee that you won't be fighting with hundreds of other students for the technology you need.
We currently have two gallery spaces on-campus: the Sleeth Gallery and the Student Art League Gallery. The Sleeth Gallery is located on the first floor of McCuskey Hall, and serves as a space in which students can interact with practicing artists and contemporary art, including video, internet art and performance, along with traditional practices such as painting, drawing and photography.
The Student Art League Gallery is located in the basement of Wesley Chapel, and acts as an experimental gallery for classes working in a variety of media.
The Art Department at West Virginia Wesleyan is pleased to offer scholarship awards from $500 and up per year. These competitive, portfolio-based awards are renewable for up to four years. Scholarship students must major or minor in art and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 at Wesleyan. For more information and an application, please visit this link: http://tinyurl.com/bzdcuav.

Visiting Artist in Residence
Each year a new artist arrives to spend an academic year with our students. The artist teaches foundational courses in art and history, while maintaining a professional studio space on campus. They also present a solo exhibition of work at the Sleeth Gallery during the spring semester. This program, the only one of its kind in West Virginia, provides students the opportunity to network with four unique artists over the course of their time at Wesleyan.
