The B.S. Pharmaceutical Science major is a collaborative program offered by Wesleyan and the West
Virginia University School of Pharmacy (WVU SOP). This rigorous, interdisciplinary pre-pharmacy option is specially designed for students interested in matriculating to WVU for the Doctor of Pharmacy degree or its pharmaceutical science graduate program, and may be completed at Wesleyan in a little as three years followed by a year of coursework at WVU SOP.
The curriculum incorporates all of the prerequisite courses required for entry into the WVU SOP (and most other PharmD graduate programs), and fulfills requirements for a Wesleyan Bachelor’s degree. The major is also an excellent option for students interested in pharmaceutical and pharmacological science graduate programs at WVU or elsewhere. Career opportunities also include pharmaceutical design, drug therapy design, and drug manufacturing.
